Kasuri Methi Seed

Fenugreek, also known as methi Kasuri, is a popular herb and vegetable that is found in India and other countries. They are small and dark green and soft, with a sweet, hot, peppery aroma and a crunchy, sour taste similar to spinach. However, they are delicious on all fronts. These leaves are delicious and can help lower blood pressure. They are high in vitamin C, phosphorus and calcium and also have iron.

Methi Kasuri, a warm-leaf vegetable, is best grown in hot climates. Fenugreek should be sown from spring to early fall (February-May) and autumn (September November) when the temperatures are mild (10-30degC). Fenugreek can be grown indoors all year on a windowsill.

How to Grow Methi Kasuri in Pots

Fenugreek, also known as methi kasuri, is a leafy vegetable. It is not recommended to be planted in pots. Methi Kasuri is a small root system that does not need a large container. A pot or grow bag should be approximately 18-24 inches in diameter and 6-12 inches deep. For germination of fenugreek seed, the soil temperature should be between 12 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Methi Kasuri Sowing Method

Fill a container or grow bag with a sowing medium. Next, sprinkle the fenugreek seed over the soil. Finally, cover the pot with a thin layer soil. Use a watering container to water the soil deeply. Place the pot on a sunny place or indoors. Fenugreek seed will begin to sprout within 5-10 days of sowing.

Methi Kasuri plants don’t require much food; however, manure or organic fertilizer can be mixed ( vermicompost or cocopeat) during planting.

Water:- Provide medium water. Make sure that the soil is not dry. Avoid overwatering.

Sunlight:- Fenugreek, also known as methi, prefers full sun but can grow in part-light.

Temperature:- Fenugreek is able to grow quickly in hot and warm climates. The best temperature for fenugreek growth is between 10-32degC and 50-90degF.

Common diseases and pests:- Aphids are the only insect that bothers fenugreek plant leaves. Common diseases that can affect fenugreek plant plants include root rot, charcoal rot, powdery mildew and root rot. These diseases can lead to leaf and plant droppages. To avoid these diseases and pests, you can use neem oils or any other insecticides.

Methi Kasuri Harvesting Time

The methi Kasuri leaves can be harvested between 30 and 45 days after they are planted.
After 15 days, cut the leaves with a scissor. The leaves will grow back after being cut.
You can harvest the plant until it starts flowering.
You will need to wait for the plant to bolt before you can harvest fenugreek seed. The seeds should be collected 3-5 months after they are planted. They will form into small pods, each containing 15-17 seeds.
